Home base

Pasadena and Altadena

Our yard sits right on 2315 Fair Oaks Ave in Altadena, just over the line from Pasadena, and this is still where most of our work happens. From Old Town Pasadena's craftsman-era streets out through Altadena's foothill lots toward Eaton Canyon, and into the incorporated San Gabriel Valley cities that ring the two of them, we have put containers on just about every kind of lot this part of Los Angeles County has.

If the container has to sit on a public street or sidewalk rather than your own driveway or yard, who governs that placement depends on where you are. Inside the City of Pasadena, that is the City's own Public Works permitting process (no dumpster-specific fee is published anywhere in that process, so we never print a number as gospel here) — check current requirements by calling the City directly. Private property itself is unregulated. In unincorporated Altadena, where our own yard sits, it is Los Angeles County Public Works instead, via its Drop Box (Roll-Off Bin) Permit process — Altadena has no city government of its own. The neighboring incorporated cities we serve (South Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, La Cañada Flintridge, Arcadia, Monrovia, Glendale and Temple City) each run their own permit process through their own city government instead. Confirm the current fee and process directly with whichever office applies, and allow lead time before you plan a same-day drop. Prohibited items follow California’s statewide bans on batteries and electronics: both are barred from an ordinary trash load per CalRecycle's own list of wastes banned from the trash, administered under DTSC's Universal Waste rules — that's the resource we point customers to for those categories.

FAQs

Service area questions

Do you charge more for towns further from Pasadena?

Our flat rate already accounts for the run, and every town on this page is inside our normal radius so you are not paying a distance surcharge. If you are outside the listed area, call (626) 740-2880 and we will tell you straight away whether we can serve you and what it would cost.

My town is not listed — can you still deliver?

Often, yes. The list covers where we run regularly across Los Angeles County and the surrounding area, but we stretch beyond it for the right job. One phone call settles it.

Do permit rules change from town to town?

Private-property placement itself does not change — a driveway, yard or lot never needs a permit anywhere we deliver. What changes is who issues a permit for the public way, and it genuinely varies across this service area because every town here is either its own incorporated city or unincorporated county land. Inside the City of Pasadena itself, that is the City's own Public Works permitting process. Unincorporated Altadena — where our own yard sits — falls under Los Angeles County Public Works instead, since there is no town government to ask. Cross into one of the neighboring incorporated cities — South Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, La Cañada Flintridge, Arcadia, Monrovia, Glendale or Temple City — and it is that city's own government handling it instead. Always check with the specific office for the area you are actually in.

Can you deliver to multiple addresses for one project?

Yes — property managers, realtors and contractors do this regularly. Tell us the addresses and the sequence you want them served and we will schedule the run. Certificates of insurance for multiple sites are no problem.
